Informed and interested parents have the greatest impact on learner achievement and all schools are expected to be exploiting ICT to improve this impact. The government have set expectations for parents having secure online access to information about attendance, attainment, behaviour, SEN and progress – all secondary schools by September 2010 and all primary schools by September 2012. This Becta led session explores the intentions behind this initiative, what schools are doing now to improve parental engagement and what can be done to support and advance schools in making more effective use of ICT for managing information and online parental reporting.
